The Society maintains many Special Funds, each with its own specific mission. They are used to finance events, provide scholarships, grants and other similar activities.
Special Funds are originated by a donor or by the Board of Government. The funds are invested by the Section and the accrued income from each fund is used to increase the principal of the fund, or is expended in a manner consistent with its mission. All investments and expenditures are subject to the approval of the Board of Government. The investment and expenditure policy encourages expenditure of income in excess of what is necessary to maintain the purchasing power value of each fund in the face of inflation.
