MassDOT/MBTA invites ACEC/MA Members to view guidance materials assembled to assist us with the implementation of virtual public involvement (VPI) activities. Given the legal obligations (Title VI, ADA and Open Meeting Law) mandated by MassDOT/MBTA, which also apply to MassDOT/MBTA consultants, these guidelines were created to reduce potential risks for all parties involved and to enhance effective outreach and participation in MassDOT/MBTA projects using virtual tools and techniques. The public guidance materials were recently updated and are available for viewing. These materials can also be downloaded within the MassDOT Learning Hub for easy reference.
The VPI materials covers MassDOT’s approach and requirements for a variety of topics, including public meeting accessibility and notice; best practices for content development, outreach, and meeting tools; rules of engagement; and sample slide templates; among others.
