6:00 PM Social/Registration, 6:45 Dinner, 7:30 Presentation
Speaker: Brian Brenner, P.E.
Principal Engineer, Tighe & Bond
The presentation is based on Brenner's engineering essays, published by ASCE Press ("Don't Throw This Away!", "Bridginess" and "Too Much Information"). The overall theme is about the intersection between Civil Engineering and real life. During the presentation, students and their guests will take an exam for the Mrs. Degree, will learn more about life insurance than they thought they knew, will meet the interesting and elusive John T. Mongan, and will consider whether or not roundabouts actually contribute to the formation of tornadoes in western Pennsylvania. The speaker is a practicing bridge engineer with Tighe & Bond in Westwood, and a Professor of the Practice at Tufts University where he teaches design courses and contributes to research in long term bridge performance.
