The second of two virtual Tunnel Inspection Refresher Training that BSCES is hosting in the spring of 2021, this 2.5-day, Instructor-led training is highly interactive and builds upon participants’ prior knowledge of bridge and/or tunnel inspection. This course covers the entire breadth of knowledge necessary to manage or execute a successful tunnel inspection. However, it does not replace the need for specialized experts to assist in inspections. There are seven course modules. During the course, the instructor will lead participants through a series of case studies giving them an opportunity to practice and apply their knowledge in real-life tunnel inspection situations. The capstone case study that takes place at the end of the course is comprised of a tunnel inspection exercise.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to explain the importance and purpose of tunnel inspection, apply the fundamentals of tunnel inspection, demonstrate the inspection and evaluation of tunnel structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, signage, lighting, and fire/life safety/security elements, and use tunnel inspection references.
Please note that all participants must provide proof of having successfully complete 130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection Training Course and 130124 Tunnel Safety Inspection Refresher Web-based Training prior to taking this course.
