Infrastructure Day: Holyoke's Great Stone Dam and Canals
This year's Infrastructure Day will celebrate Holyoke’s Great Stone Dam on the Connecticut River and the extensive canal system which powered the late 19th and early 20th century mills in Holyoke, MA.
10:00: Kick-off comments Heritage State Park with Mayor Alex Morse, ASCE president-elect Norma Jean Mattei, & VIPs

HERITAGE STATE PARK: BSCE display, Leo Labonte- Greate Falls /Canal, Fuss and O’Neil, O’Connell Construction -DOC images
CANAL WALK: Morgan 3rd grade, Holyoke High/Dean Tech, Wistariahurst Museum, Conn. River Watershed Council, Brick Studio, Food vendors
MGHPCC ( Appleton St.): Holyoke Codes, Alden Research Labs, Tighe & Bond
HOLYOKE DAM – FISH tours: 11:00 and 1:30–ENGINEERS tour 12:00, Clemens Herschel Display
NAVIGATION CANAL PARK- South Hadley Library, historic maps, photos, and documents, model of the South Hadley Canal inclined plane, a flat boat model, plus additional historic maps and documents. “rolling” video display of historic photos and a directory to South Hadley Canal graphics on permanent display and a local resident who is well versed in Canal history as a docent for the day.

Call for Volunteers! BSCES will be hosting its 2nd annual Infrastructure Day following the Choate Bridge
Celebration in Ipswich last year. The Outreach Group will need volunteers for handsāon engineering
