3. Case History – Victoria Station, London
Paul Thurlow, General Manager, Getec – London, UK
Victoria Station in central London is one of the most congested areas in the city. It was a challenge to complete a watertight environment for mining when jet grouting was used to seal water flow over existing subway tunnels. The work area was confined and the underground services were many. This talk shows how 4000 jet columns were completed successfully despite these challenges. The innovations in BIM modeling and instrumentation will also be discussed. Jet grouting under sensitive structures is feasible with the right instrumentation in place.
