238 Main Street Cambridge MA
Tour Begins Promptly at 3:00 PM
Join the Structural Engineering Institute Boston Chapter and BSCES Younger Member Group for a tour of the Kendall Square Housing Project – an active construction site. The new 28-story building will consist of graduate student housing, a child-care facility, academic space, and retail space on the ground floor. Two existing buildings will be linked, preserving a 100-year-old historic façade and an existing reinforced concrete building, which will form the base of the new 28-story tower. The new tower’s structural system will consist of 6 levels of concrete-encased steel plus 22 levels of framed slabs above that cantilever over the footprints of the existing buildings.
Followed by a Social at 4:30 PM at Cambridge Brewing Company
