Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges

This two week course is based on the 2012 FHWA “Bridge Inspector’s Reference Manual” (BIRM) and provides training on the safety inspection of in-service highway bridges. Satisfactory completion of this course will fulfill the training requirements of the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) for a comprehensive training course. This course is not geared towards fracture critical, underwater, or complex structures. Mid-term and final examinations based on course content will be administered to participants.
Please note: To take this course participants must show that they have passed one of the following pre-requisite courses: FHWA-NHI-130101,Introduction to Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges; FHWA-NHI-130054 orEngineering Concepts for Bridge Inspector. A FHWA/NHI certification of completion with the participant name on it will be required to be presented to BSCES preferably at time of registration or no later thanFriday, March 4, 2016. Information/Registration: Attendance for this program is limited to 30 participants. Individuals who attempt to register after the course is closed will be added to a waiting list. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come first-served paid reservation basis. Payment must be received with registration to secure a slot.
