Join us for a series of virtual presentations focused on the management of various civil engineering related projects in the Boston area. Q&A to follow. Speakers include:
Andrew Brunn, PE, Track Design Engineer, HNTB: Andrew has worked on a variety of rail projects throughout the northeast after graduating with both his B.S. And M.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University.
Speaking topic: The South Coast Rail Project
The South Coast rail will reconnect the southern region to jobs and generate economic development. The groundbreaking marked a significant milestone for South Coast Rail, as early construction projects are underway for phase 1.
Megan McMorris, Structural Engineer, AECOM: Megan has four years of experience with a focus on the design and analysis of bridges.
Speaking topic: Reconstruction of the Route 6/10 Interchange
Ridot’s largest design-build project, located outside of Providence, RI, serves as a critical east-west regional link for traffic. Megan will speak on the substructure design and the technical challenges she faced through the duration of the project.
Katie Swanson, PE, Water Resources Engineer, CDM Smith: Katie has worked on a variety of projects, with a focus on surface water and groundwater modeling. Katie has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Katie also serves as the BSCES Vice President and News Editor.
Speaking Topic: Faced with increasing wastewater flows and limited disposal options, the towns of Mansfield, Foxborough, and Norton, Massachusetts (mfn) identified a viable effluent disposal site which could sustain an acceptable design capacity.
Katie will speak on her experiece through the life of this wasterwater project.
