6:30 PM Pedestrian Bridge Design Challenge
Bell in Hand Tavern
45 Union Street, Boston, MA
Join the Structural Engineering Institute Boston Chapter and the BSCES Younger Member Group for an evening of networking and friendly competition! We are hosting a pedestrian bridge design challenge where participants will work together to present ideas for a pedestrian bridge. Participants will choose an appropriate structure type, determine an approximate plan location and approximate profile based on provided existing features, and work together to present ideas to others. The competition isn’t about creating the most technical design but instead about feasibility, creativity, and working together. Join us at the Bell in Hand Tavern ready to brainstorm and sketch your ideas. Participants are encouraged to bring a calculator, rulers/scales, and any items they believe will be helpful to design development including hand sketches.
There will be a cash bar and appetizers will be served. Click here to see the event flyer.
