Anuja Kamat, BSCES Vice President and Awards Committee Chair
Members of the 2024 BSCES Awards Committee would like to remind you that you now have until the extended deadline of Friday, March 22, to submit nominations for the 2024 BSCES Section and Employer Recognition Awards. Many individuals and organizations within our Section or communities are making a difference by taking actions that are having a positive impact on the civil engineering profession and the public welfare. We need your help in identifying and recognizing the actions of these distinguished individuals and employers.
The 2024 BSCES Section Awards recognize a wide range of contributors such as the Clemens Herschel Award and the Journalism Award each for noteworthy publications. There is the Citizen Engineer Award for a BSCES member or registered professional engineer given in recognition of outstanding public involvement. The Horne/Gaynor Public Service Award is given to a registered professional engineer for unpaid public service. There are awards for a College Educator and a Pre-College Educator who inspire tomorrow’s engineers. The Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award, Engineer of the Year Award and Younger Member Award recognize the professional achievements of BSCES members. Finally, there is the Charles A. Stone and Edwin S. Webster Project of the Year Award, which is given to a BSCES member and their project team who has served in a significant role on an innovative, challenging, unique, and/or complex project.
The 2024 Employer Recognition Awards are given to recognize the efforts of small and large size firms that encourage the technical and professional growth of their engineers, tackle workplace issues, have a positive community impact, and promote active participation in professional organizations.
BSCES members are encouraged to nominate a colleague, friend, and/or organization that deserves the special recognition of a BSCES award by downloading, completing, and submitting a 2024 Section or Employer Recognition Award Nomination Form on or before the March 22 submission deadline. Both nomination forms are posted here. You may contact me at 617/989-4031 or Awards.Comm@bsces.org if you would like to discuss a nomination or have any questions.
