The Ernest A. Herzog fund was established from a bequest in memory of Mr. Herzog's commendable career achievements. As established, the awards program is intended to promote an awareness of and to recognize innovative improvements to infrastructure.
The award recipient shall submit a paper that identifies an infrastructure project, innovation, or idea in which the author was actively involved in as an owner, advocate, engineer, or end-user. The project shall have dramatically improved the service provided to the public through the improvement. Areas of innovation may include design, construction, operation, maintenance, or financing. The paper should not be less than 1,000 words and not more than 4,000 words. It should highlight the benefits from the project. The paper may have been previously published in a journal.
The Transportation & Development Institute Boston Chapter requests nominations for this award annually and submits a nominee for the BSCES Board of Government's consideration. The Board approves the Ernest A. Herzog Award recipient who is presented the award during the annual Ralph Salvucci Online Bridge Awards Celebration.
